Take Me To Post Comment Form I'm fired up and am feeling the need to get all of you on the same page...I woke up this morning and walked outside with my dog. There was a slight break from the heat in the air...I won't use the word 'cool' because it's about 70 degrees, but compared to the blast of heat we experience every year from May through August...it felt like 50. It felt like Gameday. Unfortunately the high for tomorrow is forecast to be 95 according to the weather channel. Maybe that's a good thing though. I read something a few weeks ago about Albany's first day of practice. It said something along the lines of the Great Danes being greeted by one of the hottest, most humid days of the year. It was 86 degrees. It was 86 here on Tuesday and everybody was talking about how it was starting to feel like Fall. Welcome to South Georgia. Back to my point. Tomorrow is the day we have been waiting 286 days for. Tomorrow is Gameday. Today is like Christmas Eve. Tomorrow morning we will wake up and we'll have a nice shiny new football season waiting for us. And we don't even have to put up a tree or hang stockings. We do, however, have to load coolers, fly flags, and light grills. And I couldn't be more fired up about doing any of that. My car flags started flying yesterday. I have worn nothing but blue and/or white to work all this week. Some people think I have a problem. That may be true, but there is nothing like football season. And I know all of you can agree. There is nothing better than spending a Saturday at Paulson Stadium seeing the flags flying, smelling the food on the grill, and hearing the southern rock and country music occasionally interrupted by chants of "GEORGIA...SOUTHERN". You just can't beat tailgating on a Fall Saturday in Statesboro. Somebody better get fired up because tomorrow is GAMEDAY! To borrow a quote from Coach Russell...Let's beat Albany, The Citadel, and everybody in between. And that starts tomorrow--Gameday. Go Eagles!
